Developed in the Cruz Azul youth system, he made his professional debut in 2010 after coming through Cruz Azul Hidalgo. In 2013 he signed with Villarreal, and later went on loan to Rayo Vallecano, gaining valuable experience in Europe.

He joined Club Tigres in June 2015, arriving from Villarreal.

With the club, he has won multiple national and international titles, including Liga MX championships in Apertura 2015, 2016, 2017, Clausura 2019, and Clausura 2023; as well as Campeón de Campeones in 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2023, the 2020 CONCACAF Champions League, and the 2023 Campeones Cup. He has become one of the most decorated players in Tigres’ history.
