Tigres Femenil and Angel City Football Club (ACFC) are pleased to announce a historic partnership to promote the development of women’s soccer and raise the profile of the two clubs both in the United States and Mexico. This two-year partnership will include two friendly matches – the first in Los Angeles on Wednesday, August 10 at 7:00 p.m. PST at Banc of California Stadium, and the second at the Estadio Universitario in 2023 on a date to be announced later.
Tickets for the August 10 ACFC vs. Tigres friendly are included in Angel City Season Ticket Holder plans. Group and individual tickets go on sale to the general public Wednesday, May 25 at 10:00 a.m. PST at www.angelcity.com.
This alliance is perfectly integrated into the Amazonas Por Más program that Club Tigres launched on May 2 to publicize a series of initiatives to empower women within football in the sports, commercial and social pillars.
The clubs will also host other activities, such as exchanging best practices in sport, business, and social responsibility. A major focus of the partnership is that both teams will host community impact events during each visit. They will also engage with local fans, community groups, and local soccer clubs.
“We are thrilled to enter into this two-year partnership with Tigres and host the team in Los Angeles for our first-ever international friendly match,” said Julie Uhrman, President and Co-Founder of Angel City. “Angel City has always set our sights toward becoming part of the international soccer community to collaborate with and shine a light on the power of women’s soccer and women’s sports overall. This partnership with Tigres is an important milestone in our club’s history, and we are excited to engage with our fans and community as well as in Mexico and beyond.”
“For us, it is an honor to make this alliance with Angel City FC, a young franchise with a huge push with which we have found similar objectives in the search to continue promoting women’s football to another level. We want to turn Tigres Femenil into one of the most renowned teams at an international level, and this type of alliance allows us to get closer to that goal,” – explained Mauricio Culebro, President of Tigres.
