A Fine Game.- Luis Quiñones

SAN NICOLÁS DE LOS GARZA, March 28th.- A special and a fine game that everyone wants to play is how Luis Quiñones described this Saturday’s fixture against América, in a press conference.

“I think there’s something special, something fine about these matches. With an opponent like América, we have to go there committed to achieving a good result on a difficult pitch, but we’re aware of our capacity as a group and will try to capitalize on what we’ve got.

“Everyone experiences these matches differently, knowing that América has great players, as does Tigres. I think it will be a good game for us to play and make the most of our qualities.”

There’s a plus…

“There’s a plus that gives you the confidence to carry on working day by day, achieving the clear objectives we have set for ourselves.”

The opponent’s challenging factor…

“I think it’s their forwards. They have players who can throw you off balance in their attack, which is important for them, but we’ll be trying to offset this with the strategy we’ve been managing of having an equal team pitch-wide, never dividing it into two halves.”

Trust…

“I’ve been working on gaining trust since last year. I had the trust, I had the minutes, I’ve received it again here and I was aware of the responsibility of being here in Tigres, the existing position, competing with great players and that has helped me to improve every day.

“I think it’s about seizing opportunities. You always have to be willing and trust that You always have to be willing and trust that whatever you are given, you have to give back in the same way.”

Tigres is the best team in Mexico…

“There’s no doubt about that. We know that right now Tigres, in my opinion, is the best team in Mexico. It’s clear everywhere. The team has great players who know what it’s like to play in international tournaments, with their National Teams, so the club has earned respect.”

Respect for everyone…

“I believe that we view all our opponents with respect, whether it’s América, whichever team, we always try to win, do what we do best. We know that with América, it’s a difficult, different match and we’ll be playing it in the best possible way.”

Everyone has done well…

“I think that the players who are participating have done well, scoring goals again. We’re going to carry on working and hope that André Gignac will soon be coming back and will do so in the best possible way.”
