Call them high scorers!

SAN NICOLÁS DE LOS GARZA, November 12.- André-Pierre Gignac’s fourth goal, the one that looked rather wobbly but ended up in the back of the net, against Puebla, transformed the Apertura 2018 into the tournament with the most goals scored in Ricardo Ferretti’s third era.

Since Apertura 2010, the first tournament of Tuca’s return to Tigres, the team had never surpassed 30 goals in 17 fixtures and now, with just one match to go, they have reached a total of 31 goals, making Tigres the highest scoring team in this tournament.

In fact, since the short tournaments came into being, the 31-goal mark has only been surpassed five times in the regular stage.

In Apertura 2003, Tigres scored 38 goals, our record in short tournaments. Before that, in Summer 1999, the team scored 34 and again in Apertura 2004; in Clausura 2004, they reached 37; and in Apertura 2002 they scored 32 goals.
