I’m in a great group that fights hard to achieve great things.- Guty Estrada
SAN NICOLÁS DE LOS GARZA, June 22.- At a press conference, on just the third day back at training, Iván Estrada made it quite clear that he has a lot more to give, and that he hopes to do so in the Apertura 2017 tournament.
“I feel physically fit; we’re just getting started, getting our rhythm back. But I’m fine in the sense that I have an opportunity to show that I can give even more and I’m at ease in the sense that I’m in a great group that is going to fight hard to achieve great things.”
About the possibility of this being Damián Álvarez’s last tournament…
“Well, he is the one who has to make this decision. He’s a role model for the entire group, an idol for the institution; we all wish him the very best and time will tell. He has taught us so much and we’ll support him in whatever he does, but we’ll also be very sad if he does go.
“He’s like an emblem, the type of player every institution should have, but it’s not a decision we can make. We wish him all the best if he does decide to leave, and let’s hope he’ll be taken into consideration because of this.”
“The internal competition is enormous; each and every one of us would like to play. Right now, there are extremely talented players for our position, such as “Chaka”, a Mexico international who ended the tournament very well and there’s the reward. We all try to do our job the best we can and leave the decision up to our manager.”
