No Pressure Means More Danger.- Meza

SAN NICOLÁS DE LOS GARZA, November 21st.- With nothing left to fight for in the tournament, Guadalajara, who is already eliminated, will be able to play more freely and that can make them more dangerous, affirmed Francisco Meza.

“We watched part of a video today (of Chivas) and we know that they have nothing to lose ad will be playing more freely. We want, right now, to have a good basis, good regularity for what is coming… a team that plays well, that hasn’t had good results this season, but we need to give this match its due importance,” he affirmed.

How is the team after the FIFA calendar?

“We’re very well. The matches we played in the United States helped us to maintain our pace, the regularity we want to have. We’ve had a good week, hoping that “Tuca” will be back tomorrow, but, actually, it’s been a very productive week and let’s hope that we’ll achieve a good result this weekend.”

Should Tigres be suffering more than necessary to qualify to the Playoffs?

“The truth is it’s football and the other teams are also preparing to qualify. We’ve worked and tried hard, but at times things don’t always work out. Nevertheless, we’re doing the best we can  and let’s hope we’ll continue to achieve the results we want, but we’re calm because our training has been going very well,” he answered.

Step by step…

“I don’t know whether people think we feel this pressure or not. We have always taken things step by step. I’ve always said that things aren’t how they start, but how they finish and now it’s as though a new tournament is starting where the teams are stronger. The one’s who don’t give away so many opportunities are the ones who will complete the steps to the final. We all want to be there. Personally, I’ve been preparing since I knew I would be playing again in October, November, that the team would get to this point and now have this possibility both individually and as a group.”

About Gignac’s contract renewal…

“That’s really fantastic for André. We’re all delighted that he’s staying, that we have world-class players like him, like everyone at Tigres.  He deserves nothing but praise for all his achievements, for all the goals he’s scored here and the place he’s made for himself in the history of this club, so I would like to congratulate him.”
