They Have Every Right to Make Demands.- JTN

SAN NICOLÁS DE LOS GARZA, January 10th.- The fans have every right to make demands, since Tigres is a demanding institution, affirmed defender Jorge Torres Nilo, who joined in the group work this week after coming back from an injury.

“We’re in a demanding institution, the fans have every right to make demands and want the team to win. The only formula is to work and, since we’re professionals, that’s what we do every day,” commented the defender who was with Tigres when they were champions in 2011, 2015, 2016 and 2017.

Regarding his injury, an MCL sprain in his right leg, Torres Nilo indicated that it’s in the past, but he needs to improve his pace, which he is regaining by playing inter-squad games with the substitute team.

“I need to improve my pace, but hopefully and with hard work, I’ll be 100% ready to compete for a spot,” he explained.

Perspective of the team…

“It looks good to me. Each match is different, the goal is to qualify. With the tie in the last match, I’m sure we’ll improve, there are things that need correcting, we’re doing our best to reach the level our fans are calling for.”

About his return…

“A couple of weeks ago, I thought it was time. I’ve felt better, I just need to regain my pace. There’s no perfect time to say such and such a date. I’m giving my all, doing everything to be ready as soon as possible, apart from what I do here. It requires patience. No player likes to be injured. I’m dealing with my recovery intelligently.”

Internal competition…

“I’m sure I’ll soon reach the level I want and, once I do, Tuca will make the decision, which we’ll support knowing that there are rules that have to be obeyed. I think Jair (Díaz) looks good and has a fine future ahead of him. Outside the rule, the competition is with him. I’m sure he has the capacity, which is good for me and for the team.”

Criticisms of Tuca…

“The criticisms aren’t for Tuca, but for all of us. They have every right to make demands. Tuca’s not on his own, he conducts the orchestra, but it’s about all of us. We know this is demanding and that’s what we’re working for, to make sure they have confidence in Tuca and in all of us.”

Internal atmosphere…

“We’re in an institution with important people, professionals, everyone wants to play. We’ve known each other for years, so rather than being prepared for an opportunity, it’s about knowing where we are and working towards our goal. We all want to be there, but ultimately the decision isn’t taken lightly. We all get on with each other, so there’s no need to speculate as we’re a family.”
