Tigres Women Out to Make History

SAN NICOLÁS DE LOS GARZA | Wednesday, November 7, 2018.- Tigres has already broken the Women’s Liga MX points record set in the Apertura 2017 tournament by América, but now they are going for something even more important: To finish the regular phase of the Championship undefeated, a feat that, to date, no one has managed to achieve.

On Monday, November 5th, Tigres Women defeated Chivas Women 2-1 to accumulate 37 points, two above América’s record set in the first Women’s Liga, 2017.

However, if they win the match pending from Day 15, against Necaxa, the team led by Ramón Villa Zeballos would reach 40 points, which would allow them to close the two-legged tie Playoff matches at home.

América has come the closest to finishing a tournament undefeated, in Apertura 2017 and Clausura 2018, but lost at least one match in both of them.
