Win or win.- Enner

SAN NICOLÁS DE LOS GARZA, November 8.- Saturday’s match will be crucial, so the idea is to go out to win or win, affirmed Enner Valencia, a forward with the UANLTigres, before the game against Puebla.

The regular phase of the tournament comes to a close this Saturday for Tigres, who will be hosting Puebla, and a win would practically assure them a spot in the Apertura 2018Tournament Payoffs.

“We have a match on Saturday that will be difficult, a crucial match for us. We know we have the option of winning or winning three points, so we need to be fully focused for that, said the Ecuadorian.

                The group is very united

We’re aware of the quality of the players here in the Tigres squad. We’re always competing to be in the starting eleven which can cause some friction, but that’s normal in a group and we need to know how to handle it. I think both the coaching staff and the players know how to handle it. We’re a strong group, a group that’s very united, so we’ll be able to see this situation through.

                About the call-up

Every time there’s a call-up and I’m on the list, it’s very exciting and I take it with the same responsibility as the first time I was called up, with the same enthusiasm and I think that all of this this inspires you to keep on working, knowing that you are doing things right.

“I’m pleased about the new call-up with my National team, it makes me happy every time I make the list. I don’t regret staying here, it’s a fine institution and I have to try to make the most of every single moment,” he reiterated.

He doesn’t regret coming to Tigres…

“No, I don’t regret staying here or coming to Tigres. When you are a child, you dream of being a footballer. You don’t dream of being on the bench, but on the field of play and enjoying it. Many of us here would love to be one of the starting 11, but we have an extremely capable coaching staff and they are making their decisions. We have to carry on working and wait for our opportunity.

Winning is more important than scoring

That’s what’s most important (the win against Morelia), that the team was able to earn three points. For a forward, scoring is always important, especially when those three points are so useful.

The points any way we can …

“The truth is that we haven’t had the results we’d like, but as I said at the beginning, the team is very strong, we know this is the final stretch of the championship and we have to earn the points any way we can to still have a chance at qualifying to the Playoffs.
