Club Tigres joins the Principles of the United Nations Organization for the Empowerment of Women with the idea of continuing to work for gender equality in its work areas and the community.

This signature strengthens the pillar of social responsibility that the Club has for the search for equity and inclusion.

The seven UN Principles for the Empowerment of Women with which Tigres commits to developing actions inside and outside the Club are the following:

1. Promote gender equality from management at the highest level.
2. Treat all men and women equally at work, respect and defend human rights and non-discrimination.
3. Ensure all workers’ health, safety, and well-being.
4. Promote women’s education, training, and professional development.
5. Carry out business development, supply chain, and marketing practices in favor of the empowerment of women.
6. Promote equality through community initiatives and lobbying.
7. Evaluate and disseminate the progress made regarding gender equality.

Tigres is already working on the search for women’s autonomy and leadership through various programs such as empowerment and masculinity workshops within the institution, a socio-sports program to strengthen 930 youth players in vulnerable contexts, leadership scholarships for more than 120 UANL students who are studying STEM careers and financing projects that train more than 200 women entrepreneurs in Nuevo León.

As of this year, the formal commitment to the UN Women is to continue aligning actions that contribute to the promotion of gender equality and the empowerment of women inside and outside the Club.
